"10:15"

It was a hot afternoon in the City Grandstand. Thousands of people all over the city had come to celebrate and witness the yearly festival we dedicate to Saint Theresa of Avila. I was walking in the middle of such an overwhelming crowd. I sure felt like I was about to drown in such a huge group of people! Nevertheless, it was a wonderful celebration that every person wanted to be a part of.

There were food carts that could be seen on every corner containing cheesy popcorn, different colored cotton candy, ube ice cream, hot dogs on buns and even empanadas; balloons in the shape of cartoon characters like hello kitty were flying around and a number of crying children who were having tantrums after their parents refused to buy them balloons, were not hard to spot; enormous backdrops and props such as gigantic statues of St. Theresa were being paraded around the venue for the various presentations to come; and the loud banging of drums and intense blowing of trumpets could be heard a mile away from the grandstand.

As soon as the event coordinators were informed that the parade was close, the gates were immediately opened wide, preparing to welcome in the festival dancers, the bands and even the sponsors of the event. Police officers and tanods cleared a wide path for the parade as they gathered all viewers to the sides. One by one, presenters for the festival in their colorful costumes entered the venue as they danced to Saint Theresa's theme song "Viva Santa Teresa!" I was so marveled by the people who had graced the parade, as well the viewers who had awed at such a breathtaking sight.

While continuing to observe the delightful event, someone stood beside me to get a better view. I have to admit, I found him quite attractive. He was a 6-footer, dark-skinned man with narrow, squinted eyes. He just stood there, smiling with this arms crossed. "You're still as short and cute as I last saw you, Lalaine. I missed you" he spoke as he got closer to me. "What?" I replied. I was a bit confused since I didn't really recognize who he was.

Suddenly, I felt lightheaded. This must be an effect of the intense heat I had been feeling since the very beginning. I couldn't deny the fact that I had been feeling a bit off because of how hot it was that day. Then, my eyes were starting to blur out and my dizzy head knew that I was about to faint. My legs and arms had weakened. My senses no longer seemed to work too and in an instant, I had blacked out.

I woke up in bed and looked at my phone's clock, it was 10:15 am in the morning. "I had overslept because of another dream," I thought to myself. I sat up in bed and rubbed the side of my stomach. I had felt the stitches that continued to heal. It's been a year since I had been robbed and stabbed; I have never gone to another festival since that incident.

Although, I did laugh and thought about how funny it was that he knew my name but then I realized, my school I.D was just hanging out of my bag the whole time.
